Writing Prompt Round Up: Good vs. Evil

Hello Quties!

Today we have for you our first prompt round up! These are posts containing ten prompts that follow the same theme, and we will be posting these on the last Wednesday of each month.

This time around our theme is Good vs. Evil (or, more accurately, Hero vs. Villain). These prompts are largely character based, so if you're having a hard time developing your hero or villain this is the list for you!

Good:

  • The hero was formerly a villain

  • The hero is incapable of using the world’s magic/power

  • The hero’s goal is to save the villain

  • The hero never realizes he is the hero

  • Throughout the story, the hero attempts to break a bad habit of his

Evil:

  • The villain’s arc follows the “Hero’s Journey” structure (with or without the villain being redeemed)

  • Throughout the story, the villain is never made aware of the hero

  • The villain hates death

  • The villain is incapable of dishonesty

  • The villain is very out of touch with the world’s modern innovations

As you can see, I haven't included any descriptions or explanations for these prompts. This is because those wouldn't be prompts so much as plot bunnies or concepts, and our goal is to get your imagination going with vague inspiration.

However if you would like us to expound on prompts in future round ups, let us know in the comments! We would be happy to oblige.

Also if there's any particular topic you'd like us to write prompts for, leave a comment!

I hope you found this list helpful and inspiring! Have a great rest of your day and week.
